A dog day care centre in Millbrook, Bedfordshire, has opened its doors following a £50k finance package from NatWest.
Tracey Stevenson and Russell Long have used the bank’s funding, alongside a personal investment, to build a 2000 sq ft facility with internal and external areas for dogs to play, exercise and learn.
The couple spent nine months building Woof Stop, and transformed the four-acre site into a dog-friendly space. The centre has the capacity for 30 dogs a day, and 75 dogs are already registered with the centre.
The centre provides full day or half day care throughout the week, and offers a full programme of activities for the dogs. On weekday evenings and Saturdays, the centre offers training and agility for dogs ranging from puppies through to adults.
Stevenson said: “We have owned the greenfield site located between Flitwick and Ampthill for 23 years and thanks to the support from NatWest, we have been able to fulfil our ambition of creating a purpose-built dog day care centre and open a 5-star business, caring for dogs in Bedfordshire.
“We want to organise, facilitate and support complementary services to help dog owners provide the appropriate care and training for their dogs and encourage happy and healthy relationships between them.”
