Research conducted by Paleo Ridge, has found that the vast majority of dogs (90%) are given a present at Christmas, while over half (53%) are treated to a Christmas stocking.
Some 66% of dogs are given a special dinner at Christmas, with 40% of owners saying that turkey is their dog’s festive favourite.

Carrots and brussels sprouts are also a popular fixture in dogs’ Christmas dinners with 64% of dog owners plating up carrots for their pets and 32% serving sprouts in their festive meals.

Anna Webb, broadcaster, dog behaviourist and nutritionist, said: “I always strive to give my two gorgeous dogs, Prudence and Mr Binks, the happiest and healthiest lives I can, and Christmas is no exception. To make sure they have the Christmas they deserve, I give them everything from stockings to wrapped gifts and – the cherry on top – a special dinner.”

Will Green, head of sales and marketing at Paleo Ridge, added: “Christmas for dog lovers wouldn’t be complete without knowing we made it a great celebration for our furry friends too. Our pets deserve to share in moments of indulgence at Christmas.

“That is why we are so excited to offer our limited-edition Christmas product this year, so that dogs can join in on festive traditions with a tasty treat that is also highly nutritional.”
