Parrot shop proprietors move to new premises

Midland Parrots, which has been based in Sunnyside Garden Centre Ibstock, Leicestershire for seven years, will be moving to a warehouse in James Street, Coalville in July 2016.

Owners Bob McClumpha and partner Diane Gray, who also have a shop in Westgate, Long Eaton, needed to find new premises because the owner of the garden centre needs the space for other purposes.

Midlands Parrots is a specialist company that deals in parrots, budgies and other exotic birds, alongside reptiles, food and pet accessories. It has customers across the country and is keen to let people know of the impeding move.

“Unfortunately, we have to move from Ibstock, but have found suitable premises three miles away in Coalville, which we hope to open in July,” said Bob.

“Because we specialise in parrots we have customers all over the country, including one who makes a journey three times a year from the Isle of Wight to buy food and toys for birds.

“So it is important that we let people know in advance of our move as we don’t want to let them down or lose their custom, particularly as some are on a loyalty bonus scheme.”

Bob, Heather and colleague Larry Dean also run the East Midlands Parrot Club on the second Tuesday night of every month at Pride Park Veterinary Centre in Riverside Road, Derby.
