Pet owners go crazy for Christmas gifts
Sales of Christmas pet products have soared for retailers, Pets at Home. With 20 percent more advent calenders and 24 percent more dog Christmas jumpers sold in comparison to last year.
Products for small animals increased in sales by 34 percent compared with 2014 and cat treat sales rose by 34 percent.
Pets at Home Christmas Gingerbread Man toy for dogs has been so popular with owners this year that if all those sold were stacked, they would stretch over 4,750 metres tall – over three times higher than Ben Nevis.
David Wainwright, head of buying at Pets at Home, commented: “Christmas is a very exciting time for us and our pets and as thousands of advent calendars have been flying off the shelves, they must be looking forward to the big day!”
