Vet becomes canine rehabilitation therapist

The clinical director at Pennard Vets, Peter Van Dongen (Drs (Utrecht), CertVR, MRCVS, CCRT), has added a new skill to his CV.

Peter became a qualified Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist, after completing a course with the Canine Rehabilitation Institute based in Florida, associated with the State University of Colorado.

Peter said: “This qualification has given me a new skill set, which complements my veterinary skills and expertise and my previous experience in radiology, orthopaedics and hydrotherapy.

“We are now able, at Pennard Vets, to offer a vast range of veterinary specialist services in the field of canine sports medicine and rehabilitation, including first opinion consultations, specialist orthopaedic consultations, radiography (X-rays), access to CT and MRI scanning, full specialist surgical facilities, rehabilitation consultations, treatment modalities such as LASER, Ultrasound, TENS and NMES, hydrotherapy and acupuncture, all under one roof and by highly qualified people, which is fairly unique in the veterinary field.”
