Dog care business owner shortlisted for franchise award

Teresa Bowers, owner of dog boarding company Wagging Tails Oxford and Reading branches, has been announced as one of four Finalists for Woman Franchisee of the Year at the 2013 EWIF (Encouraging Women into Franchising) Awards.

Now in their third year, the EWIF Awards recognise and celebrate the achievements of women in business. EWIF co-chair, Louise Harris said: โ€œReading through the entries I was totally inspired by the professionalism and achievements of these women; they’re all tremendous role models, not only for women in the UK franchising industry but also for the wider business community and they should be proud of themselves for having made the finals of the EWIF 2013 awards against, what has to be said, some pretty stiff competition from their peers.”

Teresa owns and runs the Oxford and Reading branches of Wagging Tails, a dog care company that provides owners with a home boarding alternative to traditional kennels. She launched her first franchise in December 2010. Owners have been glowing in their assessment of Teresa’s service and following the success of the Oxfordshire franchise she decided to take on a second territory and launched the Reading Branch of Wagging Tails in June 2012.
