Pet and craft re-launch a success

Monkton Elm Garden & Pet Centre recently held an event to celebrate the re-launch of its pet and craft areas.

Pet and reptile centre manager at the family-run garden centre Liz Woodward said: “Both the pet and craft areas have been extended and we wanted to hold an official re-launch in celebration.

“The day was great fun and everyone who attended enjoyed the free activities. I was delighted my dog Spider was involved in the day too. She is the face of the pet department and is a bit of a VIP with our customers.”

Representatives from Greenway Falconry brought along some birds of prey and were on-site throughout the day. There were also several free activities on offer including pet handling, painting clay animals and a treasure trail for youngsters.

Simon Anderson from the charity Support Dogs was in attendance with his two dogs, Miele and Olga, as were two llamas.

The Pet and Reptile Centre regularly hosts free advice sessions and was awarded ‘Best Pets/Aquatic Department’ at the Garden Retail Awards 2011.
