The Greyhound Extravaganza attracts record numbers

Greyhound lovers and dogs alike came from across Britain to attend the third annual Greyhound Extravaganza.

Organised by the Retired Greyhound Trust (RGT) and held on the grounds of the Animal Health Trust near Newmarket, the extravaganza featured trade stands, food and drink, lunchtime entertainment and dog classes for all breeds, not just greyhounds.

Overall there were 32 classes for greyhounds, other pedigrees and mixed breeds, which culminated with the Burgess Supadog Supreme Champion, won by a retired black greyhound called Ollie, who also won every other category he was entered into.

Samuel Zelmer-Jackson, media and PR manager for the RGT said: “Not only is the extravaganza designed as a fun day out for the family and their pets, it is also a great way for the public to find out why greyhounds make such wonderful pets.”
