Innovative pet monitor named Kickstarter ‘Project We Love’
Innovative new monitoring system, Felcana, is making a splash within the pet healthcare sector. The new piece of technology was named one of the ‘Projects We Love’ by crowdfunding platform Kickstarter.
“We had to build great tech – tech which works, tech which looks great, but was also comfortable for cats and dogs to wear. Kickstarter awarded us ‘Projects We Love’ because we did just that and stand out!” said James Andrews, Felcana co-founder.
The ecosystem of smart devices monitors pet health, activity, and behaviour. It can detect changes in eating and drinking levels, highlight indicators of a pet’s wellbeing, such as increased anxiety levels, as well as detect key symptoms of disease such as lethargy.
The system consists of three core elements:
- Helix, a smart collar device,
- Micro-Location Beacons to track a pet in the home
- The Home Hub, to charge Helix and a pet’s data nest
Felcana is currently fundraising on Kickstarter (click here to visit the page). The online platform allows people to support or ‘back’ projects by pledging money to the creative team. By pledging on Kickstarter you can also be one of the first to get your paws on the full Felcana system when it launches, and at great early-bird prices starting at £59.
Felcana will also be looking for beta testers for their product, and will be asking their Kickstarter backers for this support. If you’re interested in becoming a tester, email info@felcana.com.
