PIF announces date for virtual awards
The Pet Industry Federation Awards 2020 will take place on 9 November as a virtual presentation, the Pet Industry Federation has announced.
The ceremony is being held virtually this year in light of continued restrictions on large-scale events, as well as the local lockdowns currently in place.
Organised by the PIF, the UK’s trade association for pet businesses, the PIF Awards celebrate pet businesses across the UK that have “made outstanding achievements” throughout the year.
The federation added that this is “something which this year has been more relevant than ever due to the unprecedented challenges that the industry has faced”.
Winners will receive a certificate and will be sent their own Pet Industry Federation Award – a PIFA – to display in their premises.
The ceremony will be broadcast from the ‘Auditorium’ at 7pm on the Virtual Petindex website on 9 November. All members of the pet industry are invited to attend.
This year’s sponsors are Pet Business Insurance, Utility Bidder, Natures Menu and Tails.com
Nigel Baker, PIF CEO, said: “The Pet Industry Federation would have loved to have found a way to bring the industry together with a live event this year, having postponed the Awards from Petindex in April, but sadly it was not to be.
“We are so looking forward however to broadcasting an online presentation ceremony where finalists and others in the industry can virtually gather to discover this year’s winners.”
He added: “We hope that our Awards will provide a cause for excitement in the pet industry after what has been an extremely tough year. We look forward to seeing you there and celebrating with you.”
