Organisers confirmed that any tickets purchased for the 2020 show, and tickets for the new March dates will be made available or be exchanged for the new date. It will also refund any tickets for visitors who cannot make the new dates.

In a statement, organisers said: “The weekend of the 4th and 5th September 2021 we hope to stage the rescheduled Dog Lover Show 2020 in a time we hope to be able to host an event with 1000’s of visitors.

“We await government guidelines for social distancing next year and hope that dates into 2021 will be safe to host Scotland’s most visited dog show. We will keep everyone up to date with any decisions made and of course any restrictions we have regarding ‘large events’ from a health and safety point of view.”

They added: “Hosting the best and safest Dog Lover Show possible is our ultimate goal and to do this we require planning and clear guidelines from a health and safety point of view in light of the spread of Covid- 19.

“If we do not think it will be possible to achieve this and ensure our visitors a safe environment then we shall reschedule for dates that will ensure we can plan safely the biggest and best Dog Lover Show to our dog-loving Scottish audience.”
