Pawexpo 2020 postponed

The organisers of Pawexpo have announced that the pet trade show will no longer take place this year in light of the ongoing pandemic.

Following a series of discussions between organisers and the pet retail market, the event’s organiser, Hyve, has confirmed that Pawexpo will instead return as a live event in 2021.

In its place, Pawexpo organisers will now host a virtual forum for the pet retail market, set to take place between 15 September and 16 September.

Although further details are yet to be disclosed, Hyve said more information regarding the virtual event will be “available on the website in due course”.

Matthew Mein, event director at Glee and Pawexpo, said: “We have been listening to both our exhibitors and visitors, and the feedback from pet retailers has been incredibly supportive of Pawexpo.

“That has enabled us to take a fresh approach and bring the community together through the launch of a brand-new virtual forum.”

He added: “We’re excited to have the opportunity to provide a new platform for interactive industry discussions and product discovery.

“We are also looking forward to when the industry can meet again in person both at Glee at Spring Fair in February 2021, and Glee and Pawexpo 2021 taking place 14-16 September.”
