Willows appoints Dr Lara Dempsey to its ‘Soft Tissue’ team
Solihull-based Willows Veterinary Centre and Referral Service has announced the appointment of Dr Lara Dempsey to its soft tissue team.
Dempsey graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2000 and spent several years in mixed practice before embarking on a career in small animal surgery.
She joined the University of Liverpool in 2013 to undertake a rotating internship followed by a residency in small animal surgery. In 2014, she completed the CertAVP in general small animal surgery.
Last year, she successfully passed the European diploma exam to become a European Specialist in Small Animal Surgery.
Dempsey said she is “delighted” to be joining the centre. She said: “I have always endeavoured to maximise my skills in order to achieve the best outcome for my patients and to provide the highest standard of care possible.
“I enjoy all aspects of soft tissue surgery and have a strong desire to drive forward my surgical skills and further my interest and development in minimally invasive thoracoscopic and laparoscopic interventions.”
Toby Gemmill, clinical director at Willows, added: “Lara is a fabulous addition to our highly-qualified team, who are all dedicated to providing the very best care and treatment for our patients, clients and referring vets.
“She has a lot of experience and specialist knowledge and I am looking forward to seeing her excel as part of our world-leading team at Willows.”
The news comes as Willows announced it had donated lifesaving medical equipment to South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust (SWFT) to help them fight the Covid-19 virus.
