BSAVA Congress 2020 cancelled

The British Small Animal Veterinary Association (BSAVA) has announced that its Congress 2020 will be cancelled amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
The event was scheduled to take place between Thursday 2 April and Sunday 05 April 2020 in Birmingham. Its cancellation comes only two weeks after the BSAVA said that the event would go ahead as planned.
In a newly released statement, the association said: “Due to the continued global spread of COVID-19, Congress 2020 has been cancelled.
“BSAVA will be notifying delegates, speakers, exhibitors and other service providers directly with more information and the next steps. We will share updates here as they become available.”
It added: “We are aware that cancelling the event will have big implications for many delegates who rely on the 450+ sessions of CPD Congress provides as a key part of their annual learning and development.
“BSAVA remains committed to supporting vets and vet nurses to access high quality CPD, and are now looking at alternative routes for delivering Congress lectures and podcasts.”
The association said that whilst it won’t be able to deliver the full Congress programme, it will be working with speakers to “capture as many lectures as we can” and make content available online.
It also said that all delegates will be eligible for a refund of their registration fees, and it will begin the refund process next week.
