Laughing Dog raise £2,800 for Guide Dogs

Boston-based dog food company, Laughing Dog, raised over £2,800 for Guide Dogs last weekend by completing the National Three Peak Challenge.

Taking on Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon from the 25 -27 May, staff from Laughing Dog walked 23 miles with a total ascent of 10,052 feet.

Jon Goodley, the farm bakery’s manufacturing manager, says: “The team worked really hard for this event but I think it’s fair to say that the walking coupled with over 1,000 miles of driving certainly wasn’t an easy task.

“Our notoriously flat Lincolnshire countryside did not make for the ideal training ground. Early starts, late nights and typical British weather certainly made the three peaks a tough challenge, but an event that rewarded the team with breath-taking views and most importantly allowed us to raise an incredible amount for the Guide Dogs.”

Dave Bloor from the Guide Dogs added: “We are thrilled to see all the amazing things Laughing Dog Food are doing this year to support Guide Dogs. Their support will enable another puppy to start their training to become a guide dog who will change the life of a person with sight loss, giving them the confidence to live the life they choose.”

With a fundraising target of £5,000 by the end of the year to pay for a puppy’s training, the baked dog food brand has launched a year-long programme of fundraising events for staff and customers to join.
