Street Paws to hold fun day for homeless pets
Dog homelessness charity Street Paws is to hold a charity fun day in Leeds in order to raise money for pets living with the homeless.
The Doghouse Bar in Kirkgate will host the fundraising event on 23 March with visitors able to sample a special 4% West Coast Pale – Street Paws Pale Ale which has been created to support the charity by the Stod Fold Brewing Company of Halifax.
For the dogs, there will be treats along with ‘pawsecco’, with local artist Audrey Langevin available for caricatoons of the pets and £5 donated to Street Paws for each drawing.
Street Paws aims to provide relief from animal suffering by giving free veterinary care and emergency kennel space for the homeless and those in crisis across 21 locations in the UK including Leeds. Volunteer vets and nurses who run the Leeds outreach sessions will be there at the fun day and will have a range of supporters merchandise available for purchase.
Michelle Southern, founder of Street Paws, said: “We’re really thankful to the Doghouse for hosting this event to support our work and to Stod Fold for making our own beer. People can look forward to great food and music and the chance to try the Street Paws ale, which we’re so excited about, and we hope to raise vital funds to support our work in Leeds.
“It will be a day for dogs and their owners to enjoy, where they can learn about our work and raise money for pets who need support.”
