Scrumbles obtains B Corp certification

South London pet food start-up Scrumbles has announced today that it has been certified as a B Corporation (B Corp). B Corps are a group of companies who have met rigorous social and environmental standards. Scrumbles has been certified by B Lab for its “commitment to goals outside of shareholder profit”. The B Corp certification covers five key impact areas of governance, workers, community, environment and customers. The candidates have to score over 80 and provide evidence of socially and environmentally responsible practices. To complete the certification, the company will legally embed their commitment to “purpose beyond profit” in their company articles. Scrumbles is now part of a community of over 2600 businesses who have certified as B Corps, and one of only two pet companies in the UK. Kate Sandle, head of community at B Lab UK, said: “We are delighted to welcome Scrumbles to the B Corp community. This is a movement of companies who are committed to changing how business operates, who believe business really can be a force for good. We know that Scrumbles are going to be a fantastic addition to the community and will continue driving the conversation forward. “We are pleased to have B Corps of all shapes and sizes as part of our community - from startups to multinationals, and across many different industries.
