2. What inspired you to start your brand, and how do your cats Magic and Mystery play a role in your journey?
We began our journey after we adopted our two cats, Magic and Mystery. As new cat parents, we quickly realised how hard it was to find a cat litter that was both effective and eco-friendly. We’re always on the lookout for new products that can enhance the lives of our cats and make their lives more enriched. This search led us to discover tofu litter, which worked so well for us and our cats that we knew we had to share it with others. Magic and Mystery have been at the heart of our brand, from being the first product testers to inspiring the brand’s personality—embodying our values of care, style, and sustainability.

Tofu cat litter stands out because it’s cleaner, safer, and more eco-friendly than traditional clay or silica litters. Made from natural, biodegradable soy byproducts, it’s lightweight, dust-free, and clumps tightly for easy cleaning. We focus on keeping things as natural as possible, and we’re proud to be part of Carbon Neutral Britain—offsetting our carbon footprint and supporting environmental projects. We also plant trees to help restore the planet. Our tofu litter is biodegradable, compostable, and comes in fully recyclable packaging, making it a sustainable and conscientious choice for pet owners.
6. What challenges have you faced as an independent pet brand, and how have you overcome them?
One of the biggest challenges has been standing out in a competitive industry while staying true to our values of sustainability and quality. With so many mass-market options, it can be tough to make an impact. But by focusing on our mission—providing products that support both cat well-being and environmental sustainability—we’ve managed to build a loyal community of like-minded cat owners. Additionally, everything we do is in-house, from product development to customer service. While this can be challenging, it also makes our work fun and allows us to form a closer connection with our customers. We’ve also worked to educate cat owners on the benefits of tofu cat litter, which has helped us grow steadily despite being an independent brand.
7. Where can owners find your products, and do you have any plans for expansion?
Our products are available in the UK and can be purchased via our website, with convenient home delivery. We also offer subscriptions for those who want peace of mind, ensuring they never run out of tofu cat litter. Additionally, we attend various cat shows throughout the year, where owners can meet us in person and purchase our products directly. We’ll be at The Cat Show Live and London Pet Show Live this September—check our Instagram for updates on where we’ll be next! While we’re currently focused on the UK, we’re planning to expand in the future, whether by introducing new products or reaching new countries.
