Linnaeus-owned Northwest Veterinary Specialists in Sutton Weaver, Cheshire, has promoted head of oncology and internal medicine Mary Marrington to the role of clinical director.
Marrington graduated from Cambridge University in 2002 before working at the RSPCA Greater Manchester Animal Hospital for five years, before completing a residency in oncology at the University of Liverpool.

She was appointed head of Oncology in 2018 and head of Oncology and Internal Medicine in 2024. Marrington also set up Northwest Veterinary Specialists’ oncology residency programme, where she trained four residents to date.
Marrington said: “I’m excited to support our team of outstanding and dedicated clinicians to foster a culture of collaboration, excellence and innovation, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and client experience.
“At Northwest Veterinary Specialists we always aim to enhance the lives of our patients by providing effective, appropriate surgical and medical solutions. We also have a wide range of cutting-edge equipment and modern facilities to help us deliver the very best in care to pets across the region.”
She added: “It’s my aim to maintain, and hopefully further improve, our reputation for providing excellent care to our patients, clients and referring vets. To achieve this I will focus on supporting and developing the whole team here at Northwest to ensure we are the very best that we can be.”
