Wold’s Vets introduces advanced CT scanner
Wolds is well-positioned to be a central hub for advanced small animal healthcare across the region and vets are being invited to visit the premises to see the new set up
Wolds Vets, an independent veterinary practice in Humberston, near Grimsby, has introduced an advanced CT (Computed Tomography) scanner at its new purpose-built premises.
The scanner is designed to help speed up accurate diagnosis and improve treatment planning.
Unlike traditional X-rays, the CT scanner produces detailed, three-dimensional images that reveal the fine anatomical details of organs, bones, and tissues, supporting vets in making informed decisions about the next steps.
Wolds is well-positioned to be a central hub for advanced small animal healthcare across the region and vets are being invited to visit the premises to see the new set up.
Pete Dixon, Wolds Vets co-founder and veterinary surgeon, said: “Our new CT scanner represents a step change in the level of diagnostic and therapeutic care we can offer. We’re now working directly with vets in the region to provide rapid, accurate diagnosis in-house, sparing pet owners the stress of travelling out of the area for advanced imaging. With this technology, we can diagnose ailments ranging from dental disease and fractures to brain tumours and ear disease with unprecedented clarity.”
Phillip Mutondo, co-founder, veterinary surgeon and director at Wolds, added: “With this technology, we can assess trauma, detect tumours, and plan surgeries with far greater accuracy than was previously possible.
“In emergency cases, this rapid diagnostics capability is invaluable, helping us act quickly and decisively, which is particularly vital for complex cases. Having treated close to 25,000 pets at Wolds since we opened, we’re delighted to offer this service to vets regionally and provide a valuable resource regionally.”
