According to Paws and Pause, residents will benefit from the 5-star licensed dog daycare service which includes enrichment, play, and rest
Brixton’s women-owned social enterprise Paws and Pause has expanded its business by opening a new site in Peckham, South London.
The dog daycare, which provides employment training programs for individuals recovering from substance addiction and mental ill health, first opened in Brixton in 2019.
According to Paws and Pause, residents will benefit from the five-star licensed dog daycare service, which includes enrichment, play, and rest.
It added that with the new site opening, it will be able to extend its program to the local community and triple the number of people they work with annually.
Through its trainee programme, Paws and Pause helps participants develop the confidence and skills needed to enter or re-enter the workplace.
So far, 42 individuals have completed the six-month training programme since its opening, 85% of whom have gone on to employment, education, or self-employment.
Paws and Pause said: “We are ready to empower even more individuals, while providing top-notch dog care services to local residents. Breaking the mould of traditional dog daycare centres, Paws and Pause offers a life-transforming experience for people seeking a fresh start.
“Enrichment, play, and rest are carefully balanced to ensure each dog receives the love and attention they deserve by dedicated staff who get to know each dog through a personalised approach.”
