Veterinary Vision opens new surgery centre in Lancashire
The Linnaeus-owned group has also established another two clinics in the north of England and one in Scotland
Veterinary Vision UK’s veterinary eye clinic has opened a new dedicated ophthalmology referral centre in Bamber Bridge, Lancashire, close to its previous base in Charnock Richard.
The new centre has been designed and built with sustainability as a “key” priority.
Among the raft of sustainable measures introduced at the new surgery centre are heat source air pumps, sophisticated ventilation systems, maximised insulation with wool fibres, aerated taps, low energy LED lighting throughout, lighting levels which consider the surrounding environment, repurposed materials where possible and charging points for electric vehicles.
The facility also features three operating theatres, a waiting room, a central preparation room and a dedicated sterilisation and instrument preparation room.
There is also a separate cat waiting room, five consultation rooms and a diagnostic room, together with spacious inpatient facilities for separate dog and cat hospitalisation, plus a secure sheltered outdoor exercise area.
Other facilities at the Bamber Bridge site, which is close to the M6, M61 and M65, include a large conference room that can seat 60 people, two overnight rooms for staff, a car park for clients and a covered outdoor waiting area, together with access to dog walking within a large parkland.
Veterinary Vision accepts referrals for all types of medical and surgical ocular disease including cataract surgery with artificial lens implantation, retinal detachment surgery, lens luxation surgery, corneal surgery and endolaser surgery for glaucoma.

These clinics are equipped for all types of ocular surgery with 15 veterinary ophthalmologists offering a “vast range of experience and knowledge in small animal, and equine eye conditions”.
