Pooch Snax launches Porky Ears pet treats

It also claimed that Porky Ears contains 66% of protein and are free from additives, preservatives, or flavourings

British dog treat brand Pooch Snax has launched its Porky Ears range of natural dog treats to independent pet stores and wholesalers across the UK.

Porky Ears are a British pork treat range made from 100% British pork which is shaped into ears and air-dried.

Pooch stated that these dog treats are approved by vets and that Porky Ears are a “safer, healthier and more nutritious alternative to pigs’ ears”.

It also claimed that Porky Ears contain 66% of protein and are free from additives, preservatives, or flavourings.

According to Pooch, traditional pigs ears “can be risky for dogs to consume as they contain ligaments and cartilage and some are also coated in artificial smoke flavouring which is used to enhance the meaty aroma which no longer makes them naturally digestible”.

Porky Ears are available loose to retailers in “100% recyclable greaseproof lined” cardboard boxes branded with the Pooch Snax Logo.

A Pooch Snax spokesperson said: “Pet owners are focusing on various aspects such as weight management and digestive health, which makes Porky Ears a perfect snack for dogs to keep them occupied whilst supporting healthy teeth and gums as they chew.

“We have worked meticulously on Porky Ears so that it is a healthy, nutritious treat that dogs will love. We have had fantastic feedback from independent pet shops about Porky Ears, so we’re excited to be making the range available more widely.”

Katie Parker, owner of Buckinghamshire-based Pickles Pet Pantry, added: “We focus on stocking affordable natural products that contribute to helping improve pet health. Having worked in the pet industry for five years I’ve come across many brands, and I feel Pooch Snax is perfect as a natural healthy treat for our best friend.”
