Jollyes reports record HY sales

Footfall in the stores hit a record high in the half year as Jollyes served over three million customers

Pet retailer Jollyes has reported record sales of ยฃ53m, up 23% YOY, during the first half of the year ending 27 November 2022.

This follows the company reporting annual sales of ยฃ87m in the full year to May 2022.

The company attributed the rise down to a mix of higher sales at existing stores, new openings and acquisitions, and rising demand at its digital platform offering home delivery and click and collect services.

It also believes it is set to hit a number of milestones in the near future. In 2023 Jollyes expects to see turnover hit ยฃ100m and its workforce pass the 1,000 mark. It also plans to open its 100th store by 2024.

It launched nine stores in 2022, including stores in Edinburgh and Llanelli which are set to open this weekend (9 and 10 December 2022). In July it acquired Penparc, adding five stores in the Midlands, taking the UK total to 84. Six more stores are scheduled to open by May 2023.

Jollyesโ€™ workforce grew to 983 at the half-year, with staff numbers set to pass 1,000 in 2023 through new stores, additional jobs in its head office in Waltham Abbey, Essex, and supporting its online service.
