Percuro to hold roundtable talk at London Vet Show
The speakers will include presentations by Percuro's chief marketing officer, Iwan Tamm and resident R&D entomologist and conservationist at Entocycle, Vivien Lee
Percuro is set to hold an event titled, ‘Insect protein; positive impact to patients and planet’ on 17 November at the ‘Food for thought Stream’ theatre at London Vet Show, ExCel.
The speakers will include presentations by Percuro’s chief marketing officer, Iwan Tamm and resident R&D entomologist and conservationist at Entocycle, Vivien Lee, whose work focuses on Black Soldier Fly bioconversion, breeding, farming process optimisation, and biotech validation. Dr Scott Miller, veterinary surgeon and broadcaster will host the one-hour event.
During the session, they will discuss the alternative pet food protein source that is not only kind to the planet but also has incredible benefits for the health of pets, whether it’s used for preventative health reasons or in cases of adverse food reactions.
The discussion topics will include:
- Why novel insect protein can be a great option to recommend for your patients.
- An understanding of the Black Soldier Fly (BSF) ingredient and it’s protein production.
- How BSF performs as an alternative protein source for pets.
They will provide further insights into this novel insect protein in relation to its sustainability credentials, production process and performance, versus a traditional protein source. More information will be provided on how to best meet the growing needs of Millennial pet parents, currently the largest group of pet owners, who are “looking for more healthy, sustainable options when choosing what is best for them, their pet, and the planet”.
