TrustedHousesitters hits 100,000 member milestone

TrustedHousesitters, the world’s largest pet sitting network, has announced that it has reached the milestone of 100,000 pet sitter and owner members on its platform. 

The business, founded in 2010, connects owners with a worldwide community of pet sitters. It facilitates a transaction-free value exchange between owners and sitters, “based on trust not money”, which “gives owners piece of mind while they travel, gives sitters an authentic and ethical travel experience with pet companionship, and gives pets quality 1-2-1 care so they can love their owners’ holiday as much as they do”. 

Its growth has come as pet ownership rose significantly during the pandemic,, leading to a greater demand for pet care as travel resumed. 

Membership growth has also been driven by a “changing demand for more ethical solutions to pet care”, according to the group, and a greater desire for “sustainable and authentic” travel experiences.  

In light of this, its membership has grown by 25% since March 2020 to 100,000, with a particular boom in new members following the pandemic as revenue from new members joining is at 4x equivalent pre-pandemic levels. The business is currently the largest pet-sitting platform in the UK and the third largest globally.
