Premier Nutrition secures FSSC 22000 accreditation

Paperwork was required for the accreditation, while an in-person audit was carried out to ensure Premier Nutrition met the FSSC criteria

Animal nutrition specialist and premix manufacturer, Premier Nutrition, has reportedly become the “first UK company of its kind” to receive a Food Safety System Certificate (FSSC 22000).

Paperwork was required for the accreditation, while an in-person audit was carried out to ensure Premier Nutrition met the FSSC criteria. Going forwards, annual audits will be conducted to demonstrate that the company continues to meet the guidelines.

Jane Ratcliffe, technical services manager at Premier Nutrition, explained that the accreditation demonstrates the company’s “dedication to quality and safety”.

Ratcliffe explained that Premier Nutrition sees the value in ensuring customers and farmers are able to align closely with retailers.

Dr Andrew Miller, pet nutritionist at Premier Nutrition, said: “The provision of safe and high quality pet foods is the goal of the whole pet food industry, so this represents a significant step to help assure customers, and ultimately pet owners, that Premier Nutrition is the right partner for them.”
