Battersea partners with NetSuite to help animals

With NetSuite, Battersea plans to use the integrated finance system to enable its team to automate previously manual processes

Battersea Dogs and Cats Home has partnered with Oracle NetSuite in a bid to unify financial management, planning and budgeting operations to free more of its time and resources so it can focus on business priorities.

Founded in 1860, Battersea has rehomed over three million animals across its centres in Battersea, Windsor and Brands Hatch, but is now expanding its reach, providing funding, training and expertise to help more animals in overcrowded, underfunded and in-need facilities.

As Battersea has expanded, it found its existing accounting system “struggled to keep up” and its reliance on manual processes and workarounds to complete basic tasks became a burden on its finance team.

To address these challenges and to help create more efficient financial operations, Battersea decided to replace its current system with NetSuite.

With NetSuite, Battersea plans to use the integrated finance system to enable its team to automate previously manual processes, enhance financial reporting and analysis for trustees and wider stakeholder groups, and help enable Battersea to save time and resources.

NetSuite is also being used to help Battersea improve its month-end processes and provide fixed asset management capabilities so the team can run depreciation analysis without having to extract and calculate information in Excel.

Alina Cummins, head of Finance, Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, said: “Our existing processes rely on a lot of manual input, which detracts from the finance team’s role of being a strategic partner to the rest of our business.

“NetSuite will help us move away from these time-consuming activities, and begin to automate our financial reporting, planning, and forecasting so that we can better provide our expertise around strategic fundraising and charitable initiatives. NetSuite has great functionality, is user-friendly, will save us weeks in manual processing per year, and will be able to grow with us as our mission and operations expand.”

Chris Hemmingway, VP of Customer Success, EMEA, Oracle NetSuite, added: “We’re proud to work with organisations like Battersea to help make a positive difference. With NetSuite, Battersea intends to enhance financial reporting, planning and budgeting capabilities, and data analysis in a single system. This will better enable the Battersea finance team to act as business partners on the great work the organisation is doing.”
