Independent pet businesses nominated for national business award

Dog holiday service Barking Mad and dog walking and boarding company We Love Pets have both been shortlisted in this year’s Bfa HSBC Franchise Awards.

Barking Mad has been named as a finalist in the Brand Awareness category while We Love Pets has made the shortlist in the Emerging Franchisor of the Year category.

In 2017, Barking Mad invested into consumer brand marketing for the benefit of its network. This involved a truly integrated marketing campaign, using varied techniques including a full re-brand and PR, TV, web, print and event campaigns.

Family-run We Love Pets launched its pilot franchise four years ago and has since recruited 12 franchisees.

Joanne White, founder and company director of We Love Pets, said: โ€œWe are over the moon to receive the news that weโ€™re a finalist in such prestigious franchise awards. Itโ€™s a real credit to the team and weโ€™re looking forward to the opportunities it will bring.โ€

Richard Dancy, head of marketing for Barking Mad, added: โ€œIt has been a stonkingly good year for our brand, which has required many hours of hard work. To receive recognition for this yearโ€™s dedication by all involved means the world to us. We hope to enjoy the benefits for years to come.โ€

All the Bfa HSBC Franchise Award category winners will be named at an exclusive black-tie ceremony held between day one and two of the Bfa Annual Conference, on 28 June 2018 at the ICC in Birmingham.
