Slickers Dog House wins Beco inaugural award
The award was established by Beco to recognise excellence in independent pet shop service and encourage owners to incorporate sustainability in pet care

Sustainable pet brand Beco has announced the winner of its “Britain’s Favourite Independent Pet Shop” award as Slickers Dog House in Padstow, Cornwall.
The award was established by Beco to recognise excellence in independent pet shop service and encourage owners to incorporate sustainability in pet care.
The judging panel confirmed the national winner and regional runners up based on public nominations outlining the efforts each independent pet shop went to support local customers and communities, along with each shop’s commitment to sustainability.
Slickers Dog House received widespread nominations that celebrated its ethos, and staff who advise on everything from nutrition to puppy games.
George Bramble, founder of Beco, said: “With the Beco Award, we wanted to celebrate the incredible work independent pet shops across the country do to look after our beloved pets, and especially whilst trying to look after the planet at the same time, and we are thrilled to have found such a worthy winner in Slickers Dog House.”
Lisa Hope, Slickers Dog House owner, added: “I’m overjoyed to have won this award – the Padstow dog community is so important to me, and I love being able to look after them with my brilliant team.
“We are real nature lovers, and so being able to encourage others to keep sustainability at the heart of their lives with their dogs is a real privilege.”
