Click-2-Heel reveal campaign for National Pet Month
Click-2-Heel’s National Pet Month campaign will take a closer look at the issue of dog theft, highlight the role of service and wellness dogs and include free facebook live puppy training sessions with Di Martin, the company’s founder

Click-2-Heel, a dog and puppy training business has announced a month-long initiative to run alongside National Pet Month from 1 April to 3 May 2021.
Click-2-Heel’s National Pet Month campaign will take a closer look at the issue of dog theft, highlight the role of service and wellness dogs and include free facebook live puppy training sessions with Di Martin, the company’s founder, dog trainer and behaviourist and former Crufts ‘Competitive Obedience Champion’ (2011).
It comes as the demand for dogs “has increased during the pandemic, pushing up the cost of some puppies from £500 to £2000”. It is also estimated that “thefts have risen nationwide by 250%, with criminal gangs involved”.
A breeder of border collies, Martin will highlight the importance of finding a good breeder in the fight against dog theft, as well as offer “advice on how owners can protect their dogs from being targeted and what to do if their pet is stolen”.
He said: “The emotional impact of losing a much loved family pet is devastating. As the owner of dogs myself, I really couldn’t think of anything worse. Every day clients are telling me that they are more scared of walking their pet because of the risk that it will be stolen.”
Michael Bellingham, chairman and CEO of National Pet Month, added: “Our companion animals have helped with our mental and physical health so much during lockdown and National Pet Month is an excellent time to focus on celebrating our pets and making sure we are mindful of their needs.
“Good socialisation and training helps our dogs feel comfortable and secure and is part of responsible pet ownership. It is all the more important in the changing environments that the pandemic has created.”
