Assisi Pet Care acquires Town and Country Petfoods Ltd

Based in Skipton, Assisi Pet Care was established in September 2020 as a joint venture between founder Peter Mangion and investment group, Harwood Capital

Assisi Pet Care Ltd has acquired Town and Country Petfoods Ltd, for an undisclosed sum.

Established in 1974 by the Parkinson family, Town and Country is based in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, where it has a 26 person team. It markets an extensive range of dog and cat foods and treats, primarily under the HiLife brand.

According to Assisi, the acquisition of Town and Country, which was completed on 2 March broadens the company’s offering into “dog foods, as well as into the cat foods and treats categories”.

Assisi Pet Care was established in September 2020 as a joint venture between founder Peter Mangion and Harwood Capital, with the objective of “creating a significant player in the dynamic and fast-growing European pet care market”.

Following its launch last year, the company also acquired dog treats business, Hollings Ltd.
