Scarsdale Vet’s practice expands to new premises

As part of their wider expansion plans, Scarsdale Vet’s Mickleover practice will relocate to a newer, larger premises this February.
Opening to clients on Monday 12 February 2018, the new site at 73 Devonshire Drive, Mickleover, will offer an increased range of veterinary services within its new location.
The practice has two consultation rooms and a surgical theatre, where vets and nurses will be able to carry out routine surgeries, vaccinations, neutering, nurse clinics and blood tests.
The new practice also has separate dog and cat wards, an imaging room, an on-site pharmacy and a 2.6m retail area full of tasty treats and a variety of other accessories for dogs, cats and other small animals living in Derby.
The new practice is nearly five times larger than its previous location on Vicarage Road.
As part of the relocation, Mickleover will have longer opening hours, and will be open from: 08:30-18:00 Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 08:30-19:00 on Thursdays and Fridays, and 08:30-13:00 on Saturdays.
John Turkington, a Scarsdale partner and small animal vet who predominantly works at the Mickleover practice explains: “This relocation is part of Scarsdale’s wider development plans to move all first opinion practices to larger, independent facilities.
“By moving our smaller practices to larger premises, we are able to offer our clients an increased range of veterinary procedures at just one site, which is invaluable.
“Expanding our practices also means we won’t necessarily have to refer all first opinion cases to Scarsdale’s Pride Veterinary Centre at Pride Park, as we will have the facilities to treat more cases in-house. Moving Mickleover is the first of three relocations planned for 2018, so this is a very exciting time for Scarsdale Vets.”
