Beaphar team raises over £11,000 for charity

Ten Beaphar employees cycled over 175 miles in three days to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
The colleagues chose to mark the company’s 75th anniversary with a charity event. Together, they raised over £11,500, more than doubling the original target of £5000.
On the 1st July, the team set off from their office in Haverhill, Suffolk, and cycled over 175 miles over three days to reach their Head Office in Raalte, Holland. On the last 56 miles, 12 Dutch colleagues supported them, including Henk Aa, Beaphar’s owner.
“The support we have received has been overwhelming and it has kept the team motivated during their training. Every year we support a charity, and this year was no exception.
“We have a very committed team at Beaphar and they wanted to take on a team challenge which would raise funds to make a difference to other people’s lives.
“We are very proud of their efforts, and it’s a huge well done for raising such a fantastic amount and for all ten employees completing this tough challenge,” commented Sue Huggett, Beaphar Business Manager.
The Beaphar Cycle Team were seen off by colleagues and a few words were said by Heidi Connell from Cancer Research UK.
“It was a privilege to be able to come and send you off at the weekend and seeing you all bike out of the HQ with the 175 miles in front of you made me realise the challenge that you really had set yourselves.
“You really have made such a difference with the money you have raised for Cancer Research UK and we are very grateful to you all for your support, ambition and fundraising efforts,” commented Heidi Connell, Senior Local Fundraising Manager, East Anglia.
