Charity boxes stolen from pet shop
A pet shop has been robbed of its till and charity boxes overnight.
The charity boxes were so heavy that the thieves couldn’t carry them so used a wicker basket in store to ‘aid the escape’.
Toby’s Pet Shop, based in Framlingham, was the victim of two men who stole the till and charity boxes for Air Ambulance, Laxfield Pre School, Marie Curie and Suffolk Animal Rescue.
Sarah Jennings, who runs the business with her husband Mike shared the CCTV footage on Facebook urging people to share. She stated: “We pride ourselves in how much money we raise in our charity collections and we will personally replace this for these charities but please please share the hell out of this so this doesn’t happen to anyone else. Thank you.”
Jennings told East Anglian Daily Times: “The staff and owners at small independent businesses work incredibly hard to make it work and so when something like this happens it really is awful,” she said. “These thieves are the lowest of the low, they really are.”
Anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area, is able to identify the two men in the CCTV images or who has any information to assist the investigation is asked to contact Suffolk Constabulary on 101, quoting reference 37/41017/17.
