Forthglade launches ‘A Good Cause For Happy Paws’

Forthglade has launched a new project to help raise funds and awareness of UK animal welfare charities.
Every month, five UK animal charities or rescue centres will be supported by new initiative ‘A Good Cause For Happy Paws’.
Charities are invited to get in touch via a dedicated Charity Applications web page www.forthglade.com/charity-application/ where they can request food parcels of natural cat or dog food, ask for help with raising awareness on local fundraising events, or even ask Forthglade to share details of long-stay animals looking for a forever home who may be getting over-looked by future pet owners.
The recent rehoming of a German Shepherd in the care of York’s RSPCA played a part in the inspiration behind the initiative. Seth featured on Forthglade’s website this summer and was soon successfully rehomed.
“As a team we’re passionate about pets” said Gerard Lovell, Joint MD of Forthglade.
“Although Guide Dogs remains our leading charity for fundraising projects, we were keen to support other UK animal welfare charities as we receive so many requests for help every week. It’s impossible to react to every request but the Happy Paws project enables us to help 60 charities each year.
“As the numbers of pets in rescue centres remains so high, we’re especially keen to promote the importance of considering pet adoption when looking for a pet. Happy Paws also provides an opportunity to share more stories on what goes on behind the scenes of these hard-working animal charities.”
