ROYAL CANIN®’s Rescue Cat of the Year campaign

ROYAL CANIN® is launching its fourth Rescue Cat of the Year campaign. The company is reinforcing its ‘animal first’ philosophy by supporting rescue centres and the cats they rehome.

Consumers who have rehomed a cat from a rescue centre can nominate a pet for the title ‘Rescue Cat of the Year’ on ROYAL CANIN®’s website. The competition will be promoted across social media and direct mail. Entries must include a photo of the cat and a 250 word description of his or her story.

The winning cat in 2016 will receive a selection of ROYAL CANIN® goodies. The rescue centre the cat came from will receive a month’s worth of food for 50 cats.

ROYAL CANIN®’s relationship is also designed to drive new owners to the specialist pet trade. Gemma Duffield, ROYAL CANIN® Retail & PRO marketing manager, says: “We know many retailers are closely involved in supporting their local rescue centre, and this campaign means that not only can we help drive sales, but retailers could help their local centre win a substantial prize by encouraging customers to enter their cat.

“We’ve also added extra bonus points for rescue centres when new owners register their cat via the rehoming pack they are given, so it’s potentially a very significant area of benefit for the centres.”
